DEPARTMENT OF PHYSIOTHERAPY
The Department of Physiotherapy offers an undergraduate program BPT i.e., Bachelor of Physiotherapy, and a 6-month rotatory internship is compulsory for which the department has tie-up with hospitals. The Department works theoretically as well as practical approach. The curriculum offered in the department train the students in the different disciplines of the medical field like Human anatomy, physiology, pathology, microbiology, biochemistry, medicine, surgery, and the departmental subjects like exercise therapy, electrotherapy and works in other disciplines like orthopedic, cardiology, neurology and sports exposure.
Facilities and Infrastructure:
Electrotherapy Labs
The basics of treating any patient are treating the pain before going to its root cause and we have furnished the lab with equipment like Transcutaneous Electrical Stimulation of Nerve (TENS) which relives radiating nerve pain. Interferential Therapy (IFT) and other modalities like Electrical stimulation, SWD, paraffin wax, ultrasound, hydrocollator packs, and other modalities.
Exercise Therapy Labs
We have all the equipment for performing exercises and teaching the right technique with the right use of skills. The labs are spacious and contain modalities like tilt table, suspension bed, traction bed, parallel bars, static cycle, quadriceps strengthening table, shoulder wheels, and hand, as well as legs, exercise units. We also have peg grading boards to treat coordination, grips and for giving balance training we have Swiss balls.
Hospital Tie-Ups
Our departments have set up tie-ups with different organizations like IGMC, the Indian Association of Muscular Dystrophy (IAMD), Tenzin Hospital. Students go for postings and outreach activities in the different hospitals.
Camps Organizations
The physiotherapy department organizes camps in different villages for the awareness of people and these drives give students exposure to different areas in the medical field and the camps include most of the students to take part and work in a teamwork task so that student can develop a sense of collaborative approach.
Workshops
The department also focuses on the enhancing practical exposure and experience of the students by organizing the hands of skills development workshops of different techniques in the department itself. This enables the students to learn more and make them aware of various techniques in the field of physiotherapy.
Mentor Meetings
Each student has many difficulties and confusions regarding the course or any academic or administrative works. The mentors are assigned to the students so that they can take care of the students and solve all the complaints of the students.

Clinical Exposure:
Special emphasis is given at Bahra University for providing extensive clinical exposure to students at various multispecialty hospitals and rehabilitation centres in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.
